The most beautiful place in Texas...
Balanced Rock. Scrambling up boulders with a baby on your back isn’t the easiest thing ever, but we took our time and made it to the top. Soon after this photo, it started raining.
Have you been to Big Bend National Park? It is the largest national park in Texas and is located less than 7-hours from Austin. Our family visited earlier this year - we camped for 5 nights and it was amazing! In Big Bend, you get to see everything from mountains to deserts to rivers (and across the river, Mexico), and even the Milky Way if you’re there at the right time.
We camped in a backcountry site where no one was within miles of us. It was just our family, more stars than you’ve ever seen, and the cutest little kangaroo rats hopping around.
It seemed like the whole desert was in bloom. Of all the flowers though, I was most obsessed with this desert plant, the Ocotillo.
